Ingredients:
- 20 pretzel snaps (approx. 3 oz / 85g)
- 20 caramel squares or Rolos (approx. 7 oz / 200g)
- 2 medium Granny Smith apples (approx. 1 lb / 450g), diced into 1/4 inch cubes
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- Cut the Granny Smith apples into uniform 1/4 inch cubes.
- Submerge the apple cubes in a mixture of cold water and lemon juice for 5 minutes.
- Pat the apples completely dry with a paper towel to ensure the caramel adheres.
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place pretzel snaps in a single layer on the baking sheet, spaced 1 inch apart.
- Place one caramel square or Rolo in the center of each pretzel.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until the caramel is glossy and soft.
- Immediately press one or two apple cubes firmly into the softened caramel.
- Microwave dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring until velvety.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the bites.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let cool for 10 minutes until the chocolate is firm.
