Ingredients:

  • 20 pretzel snaps (approx. 3 oz / 85g)
  • 20 caramel squares or Rolos (approx. 7 oz / 200g)
  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples (approx. 1 lb / 450g), diced into 1/4 inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp flaky sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Cut the Granny Smith apples into uniform 1/4 inch cubes.
  2. Submerge the apple cubes in a mixture of cold water and lemon juice for 5 minutes.
  3. Pat the apples completely dry with a paper towel to ensure the caramel adheres.
  4. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Place pretzel snaps in a single layer on the baking sheet, spaced 1 inch apart.
  6. Place one caramel square or Rolo in the center of each pretzel.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes until the caramel is glossy and soft.
  8. Immediately press one or two apple cubes firmly into the softened caramel.
  9. Microwave dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring until velvety.
  10. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the bites.
  11. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let cool for 10 minutes until the chocolate is firm.
